DESCRIPTION
Join us for a scenic 25km hike through the historic Epping Forest, via beautiful Wanstead Park, ending at Wanstead station or the cuckfields pub. This route takes you through ancient woodlands, serene lakes, and charming open spaces, offering a refreshing escape from the city. Wanstead Park was once home to Wanstead House, where Queen Elizabeth I is believed to have stayed. The hike finishes in Wanstead Village, a vibrant area on the Central Line, just 20 minutes from central London.
Highlights:
• Explore the vast Epping Forest, one of London’s largest and oldest woodlands
• Walk along peaceful lakes and natural trails, surrounded by diverse wildlife
• Visit Wanstead Park, a historic 18th-century landscaped garden with stunning scenery
• Discover the site of Wanstead House, a lost mansion with a fascinating past
• Finish in Wanstead Village, with cozy cafés and easy transport links back to the city.

Distance: 25km route (or less as there are places to leave hike early)
Ascent: c.373 metres

Ending Wanstead around 16:00

The cost is £10 per person. for hike only.
