Rejuvenate your pasture and build resilient soil!

Join us for our annual Breakfast Plot Tour at Wildwood, where you’ll enjoy a free breakfast and learn first-hand from leading soil health expert Dr. Jill Clapperton.

This year’s plot tour highlights our Wildwood Polycrop Soil Health Project, designed to improve soil health on challenging gray luvisol soils — soils with higher clay content, lower water infiltration, and compaction issues common in Yellowhead County and North West Central Alberta.

We’re showcasing a diverse polycrop blend aimed at increasing plant diversity, supporting nutrient cycling, and improving water retention. Alongside the polycrop, we’re trialing five different biological amendments, each designed to stimulate soil biology, regulate pH, reduce compaction, and enhance water infiltration.

Treatments include:
> TM Ag (Best Farming Systems)
> Algae product (Regenysis)
> Eco Tea
> pH Plus (Best Farming Systems)
> Johnson-Su Bioreactor product
> Plus a control (check) block

What you’ll see and learn:
> In-field results on W**d suppression, compaction reduction, and water infiltration
> How diverse blends can support pasture rejuvenation and improve yield and quality
> Tips on biological amendments and soil health monitoring from Dr. Clapperton
Practical discussions on how to adapt these practices on your own land

Who should attend?
> Pasture and hay producers
> Cow-calf and mixed livestock operators
> Land managers looking to improve soil structure and productivity
