Special Tour: Battle of Monmouth Monument

A special driving tour to the Battle of Monmouth monument in downtown Freehold is on tap for June 22nd. Learn the history of the monument, which is as big as the battle monument at Yorktown and is not often visited because it is about two miles from Monmouth Battlefield State Park. It has some interesting and significant artwork on it, which will be explained. There were also important movements during the battle there and nearby,

This is a free event. Meet at the Park Visitor Center at 1:30 PM to convoy there by car or drive directly to the monument yourself by 2 PM. Parking is available on Court Street or in the Court House parking lot.

If the weather looks questionable, call the park office for information at 732-462-9616. We will be meeting outside near the main doors. NOT ADA accessible.
