Making Strides Tour de Vera Cruz Course Preview

Join us for a very beginner friendly course preview run for Upper Milford Township’s inaugural Jasper Day Celebration’s 5K, aptly titled “Tour de Vera Cruz!”

Jasper Day will be Saturday, June 21 with a June 22 rain date. Register on runsignup at http://tinyurl.com/jasperday

The Tour de Vera Cruz 5K runs the perimeter of Jasper Park around the soccer fields and on the gravel paths. Runners will exit Jasper Park, turn right, and head down the hill on Vera Cruz Road to turn left into a neighborhood entrance to the Fulmer Preserve. The Fulmer course includes undulating terrain and off-camber sections on mowed grass, making it more “cross country” than the roots, sticks, and gnarly climbs typical of a trail race. There are two long hills: the Chimney Swift Hill Climb and the final climb up Vera Cruz Road.

As a tame off-road race, the course is suitable for runners of all disciplines and expertise. Trail shoes are nice, but not necessary.

Jasper Day will also feature a 1.5K family summer stroll on the Jasper Park course.
