The Henna Artist follows a young woman who escapes an abusive marriage in 1950s India to become a renowned henna artist and confidante to the elite in Jaipur. She navigates a society in transition while pursuing her own independence, but her carefully built life is threatened when her long-lost sister unexpectedly appears.
