It is located in the heart of the enchanting Kîrîmîri Forest in Mukuuri Village, Runyenjes, Embu County, Kenya. Kîrîmîri Forest hiking trail is beginner, child, and family-friendly. It is ideal for hikers of all levels of fitness. The hiking distance is 10.8 Kilometers in total, with an elevation of 1520 Meters above sea level.
The Kîrîmîri Forest holds historical significance as a hideout for Mau Mau fighters, including the famous General Kubu Kubu. Kîrîmîri Forest is also recognized as one of Africa's Ecologically Sensitive Sites by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Be prepared to marvel at the forest's gorgeous vegetation, replete with rare indigenous and medicinal trees.
