This is an "iInformal" group meet up at Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, Pennsylvania. Group outing is not affiliated with the park. If you are interested in joining us, please click on the appropriate button.
National Roller Coaster Day was originally proclaimed in 1986 and celebrated worldwide annually on August 16 by those who love roller coasters! Members of ALL roller coaster enthusiast clubs are welcome to celebrate at regional amusement and theme parks.
NRCDay is simply a day where we can get together as a group and enjoy the park together. We do not anticipate receiving discounts, having ERT's, etc., unless park management offers them to us. If they do, we will update this announcement. There is no registration cost to attend. However, the cost for rides, food, etc., is your responsibility. (See below for pricing, food, etc. found on the park's website.)
We will have several "ride takeover times" throughout the day on the park's roller coasters and other rides including Haunted Mansion (extra cost), Giant Flume, Lusse Bumper Cars, Carousel, StratosFear, Scenic Skyway, and everyone's favorite the Pioneer Train. (Rides are subject to availability.)
As if you didn't know, parking and admission to the park is FREE! Just pay as you go with tickets. (All-day ride wrist bands are not sold on weekends.)
ITINERARY
11:00 am - Knoebels ticket building opens. Get in line early!
11:00 am to 11:45 am - Meet up at coaster car "display" near the entrance to the Phoenix roller coaster. Group photo to be taken at this time. Further details (if any) will be provided when available.
12:00 noon - Knoebels Amusement Resort opens for the day.
2:00 pm - Informal Take Over Times (ITOT) begin. First coaster (or other rides) to be decided by group. Later ITOT's to be decided throughout the day.
