Willow workshops at Haddenham Arts Centre, near Ely, Cambridgeshire
Willow weaving is a great way to learn about traditional techniques and natural materials. Share the company of family or make new friends while learning on the day.

Maximum 6 places to enable a really good learning experience. All tools and materials are supplied. This workshop is suitable for beginners and returning students to refine and develop more skills.
This workshop is to make wild weave baskets, large or small, miniature or magnificent.
Optional addition is to include some willow bark in the structure.
Workshops are led by sculptor and weaver Jane Frost, she will take you through all the techniques necessary to make your basket and everyone will go home with finished items they can be proud of.
Jane has experience teaching all age groups with a variety of needs. This workshop is suitable for everyone over the age of 16, children must be accompanied by a parent or carer at all times.
Additional things you might like to bring; Notebook, pens or pencil, Garden Wire, Scissors and String, Sharp Knife – Stanley or Craft, Gardening gloves.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
You will need to have a reasonable amount of strength in both your hands to be able to work with the willow. Please wear older clothes, such as you would wear for gardening, sandals are not advisable.
Willow needs to be prepared at least a week in advance for each workshop. Therefore if workshops are cancelled or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, bookings will be transferred to alternative dates. No refunds will be given.
