About the event

Rachmaninov's All-Night Vigil with Cambridge Schola
Featuring some of Rachmaninov's most soulful music, this work, written for the Orthodox church shortly before the 1917 Revolution, shows the composer at his most inventive and heartfelt.

The concert also showcases Schola's director Graham Walker, with virtuoso pianist Patrick Hemmerlé, in Rachmaninov's Sonata for Piano & Cello. The Sonata was written around the same time as the famous 2nd Piano Concerto, and demonstrates similarly achingly beautiful melodies with rich and characteristic harmonies.

Tickets from £19.00 (plus booking fee)
