John Ward Trio supported by Kevan Taplin

The John Ward Trio makes a welcome return to Ely Folk Club, bringing John’s acclaimed folk songs of the Suffolk land and sea and his wider travels. The trio will be showcasing material from John’s newly released 10th album, as well as favourites from their wide-ranging and eclectic repertoire.

Kevan Taplin's early performing career began on the classic London Folk and Blues scene, playing washboard in the days of the counter-culture supporting acts such as Renbourn, Jansch, Sandy Denny, Jo-anne Kelly and Tony McPhee. In his career Taplin has won an Arvon Bursery for songwriting, been shortlisted to play the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square and Banksy's Dismalworld, had a song taken to Nashville, as well as being invited twice to perform for the Poet Laureate.
