Historic Hamilton Heritage Tours

Step back in time with the Nevada State Railroad Museum East Ely on a FREE, guided Heritage Tour of historic Hamilton, Nevada’s original White Pine County seat.

Led by Museum Director and historian Sean Pitts, this tour explores the dramatic story of Nevada’s first eastern mining boom using historic maps, rare photos, and expert storytelling. Discover how the 1867 silver strike ignited one of the West’s most intense mining rushes.

-Free Admission
-Approximately 4 hours
-Weather dependent
-High-clearance vehicles with rugged tires recommended
-Bring: Water, snacks, and clothing/footwear for rugged terrain

Time & Meeting Location:
Meet at 8:45 a.m. at the Great Basin College parking lot in Ely. The caravan will depart at 9:00 a.m.
