EGS June Meeting

The Edmond History Museum; an 88 year old mortar and stone former armory located at 431 S. Blvd. in Edmond. The historic, native sandstone building was built in 1936 by the WPA. You’re invited to join with members of the Edmond Genealogical Society, Monday, June 16, 2025, 6:30 pm for this special program as they take a behind the scenes tour of all the various and sundry historical items the museum has in storage. Among the plethora of items, there’s Victory Mail from WW II, wedding dresses from 1875, Edmond Memorial HS Bulldog memorabilia, 50 years of LibertyFest artifacts, an early 1900s cook stove, a 1950s fridge with classic rounded corners. There’s a wide variety of political memorabilia and historic photographs too. Way too many items to list. Make sure to ask about Kentucky Daisy.

Edmond Genealogical Society meetings are free and open to the public. Programs start at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are held the third Monday of the month at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 15700 N. Penn, Oklahoma City. Enter through the doors on the south side of the building. The church offers plenty of parking and is fully handicap accessible.
