As part of the spring water festival, we are having a Coastal and Downland walk
The coastal and downland walk will begin at the Western Lawns at 2.30pm on Sunday 18th May and go via the middle prom to Meads, Whitbread Hollow, Cow Gap and Falling Sands.
We will call in on the Closing Ceremony at the foot of the wooden staircase at the Holy Well for 3pm.
The group, of up to 20 people, will return by the same route - provisionally ending at the Pilot Inn in Meads by 5.30pm
We will allow three hours for the whole walk. It will be the sixth in a series of guided walks in and around Eastbourne this spring, organised by Eastbourne Eco Action Network, with support from Chalk Cliff Trust.
The aim is to show the variety of landscapes that can be reached on foot or by public transport: downland, river, estuary, forest and coastal.
Leaders share information and stories about the geography, ecology, history and folklore.
Some of the walks feature traditional songs, led by Liz Overs.
