As the summer season approaches and the current school year concludes, we are nearing the 2025 Little League International Tournament (commonly referred to as the Williamsport Tournament).
According to Little League International, "The release of names of players selected for the tournament team shall not be made before May 15 and not until availability and eligibility of all prospective team members have been established. Try-outs and practices by tournament teams shall not be held before May 15."
In preparation for this year's tournament, a Zoom meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 21st at 8 PM to provide an overview of what teams can expect during the District Tournament and to address any questions regarding the completion of the Tournament Affidavits.
Each team manager is required to complete the Tournament Affidavit, including the supporting Tournament Player Verification Forms and the player residency map, which must be completed online in the Little League Data Center. The Manager and Player Agent must sign the Affidavit, while the League President must sign the Affidavit, Tournament Player Verification Forms, and the eligibility map. Each Tournament Player Verification Form must be supported by proofs of residency as described on the form (all proofs of residency must be dated between February 1, 2024, and February 1, 2025) or by the School Enrollment Form (signed by a school official). An approved Tournament Player Verification Form is valid for the duration of a player's Little League tenure; however, if supported by the School Enrollment Form and the player changes schools (e.g., from elementary to middle school), new forms must be completed.
Additionally, all managers and coaches must clear the Background Check required by Little League International through JD Palatine. They must also complete and provide evidence of the Diamond Leader Training and the annual Abuse Awareness Training (both offered through Little League University -
