Mid-Michigan Spartans' TB Simon Power Plant & Water Treatment Facility Tour

If you're curious how MSU powers campus, this is the tour for you. Participants will get an upclose look at MSU's power and water facilities. These are active worksites and require adherence to the safety protocols that follow. Please do not register for this event if you have any hesitation regarding the requirements.

• Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Narrow heels are not recommended. They can get stuck in the grated floors.
• Skirts and other opened-bottom clothing are not recommended. Participants will be walking on elevated grated floors where individuals may be working below.
• Hearing and eye protection will be provided by the facility and MUST be worn. The eye protection has side shields.
• Flash photography is not permitted in the plant. Flash-sensitive equipment is in use.
• All group members must remain with the tour at all times.
• High ambient noise and temperature may be experienced inside the plant.
• Walking on elevated gratings may occur during the tour.
• Strong magnetic fields may be encountered; visitors with medical devices are cautioned.
• No smoking at any time, MSU is a tobacco free campus.

There is space for 50 participants. The tour will be split into two groups of 25 that begin at two different locations. One group of 25 will begin at the TB Simon Power Plant. The second group will begin at the Water Treatment Facility. The Mid-Michigan Spartans will inform registrations which group they are part of and the correct starting location two days prior to the event.

The Mid-Michigan Spartans request that registrants be 18+ years old for this experience.

With a limited number of spaces, please ensure you are only registering individuals you are certain will attend. If you register for the event and your plans change, please alert the Mid-Michigan Spartans immediately so we can invite individuals from the waitlist.

For those attempting to register after the event fills, please add your name to the waitlist. If a space becomes available, we will let you know.

There is no cost to attend this experience. As with all Mid-Michigan Spartans' events, those interested in donating to the operations of our club are welcome to do so via the additional ticket option listed with this event. All contributions are appreciated and used to fund the general expenses of our programming. Donation tickets are not tickets to the tour. If you wish to attend the tour, as well as donate, be sure to select the event ticket in addition to the donation ticket.
