Mid-Michigan Spartans' Broad Art Museum Preparator Tour

The MSU Broad Art Museum connects people with art through experiences that inspire curiosity and inquiry. With a focus on the art of our time—in dialogue with the historical—the museum encourages engagement with timely issues of local relevance and global significance.

Broad exhibitions are complex. Few get the opportunity to experience the work that occurs to bring an exhibition to reality. Working behind the scenes is a team of exhibition producers and preparators. Their work involves all aspects of implementing and maintaining and exhibition including space prep, maintenance, design & fabrication, installation, scheduling, art handling, and strike of exhibitions.

Exhibition Producer and fellow Mid-Michigan Spartan, Steven Stradley, will take participants behind-the-scenes for an engaging and revealing glimpse into the world of preparators.

There is space for 20 participants. For parking, participants will need to find their favorite East Lansing option and walkt to the MSU Broad Art Museum.

With a limited number of spaces, please ensure you are only registering individuals you are certain will attend. If you register for the event and your plans change, please alert the Mid-Michigan Spartans immediately so we can invite individuals from the waitlist.

For those attempting to register after the event fills, please add your name to the waitlist. If a space becomes available, we will let you know.

There is no cost to attend this experience. As with all Mid-Michigan Spartans' events, those interested in donating to the operations of our club are welcome to do so via the additional ticket option listed with this event. All contributions are appreciated and used to fund the general expenses of our programming. Donation tickets are not tickets to the tour. If you wish to attend the tour, as well as donate, be sure to select the MSU Surplus Tour Admittance ticket in addition to the donation ticket.
