About the event

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) First Class: In Person
An in-person Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) session kicks off in September 2025 on Saturday mornings! MBSR has been researched for over 40 years and consistently delivers benefits associated with increased self-awareness, and attentional and emotional regulation. In addition, outcomes have included reductions in symptoms for various physical and behavioral health conditions such as stress, anxiety and depression, chronic pain and hypertension.

This highly participatory, practical course includes guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices, gentle stretching and mindful yoga, group dialogue and discussions aimed at enhancing awareness in everyday life, and daily home assignments. The course schedule consists of one orientation class (1 hour), eight weekly classes (2.5-3 hours), and one daylong retreat on a Saturday or Sunday (6.5 hours), all in person.

-Orientation: September 6; 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Central
-Session 1: September 13; 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Central
-Sessions 2 - 6: September 20, September 27, October 4, October 11, October 18; 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Central
-Retreat: October 25; 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Central
-Session 7: November 1; 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Central
-Session 8: November 8; 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Central

Please note, you are still able to register for a program after the orientation session and you will be sent any important details from the session and connected with your facilitator prior to the first session.

Access to downloadable audio recordings of meditation and mindfulness exercises is included in your registration fee, for your use in practicing outside of class.
