Heading into its 12th year, the 2025 edition of the Memorial Day Challenge will return to the Viking Lakes campus on Sunday, May 25th. Memorial Day Challenge (MDC) is a nonprofit “Murph” supporting US Veterans.

Originally founded in 2014, the event has previously been hosted by these local gyms: CrossFit SISU in Excelsior and FitHAUS in Wayzata. It’s historically been an outdoor event (held rain or shine), with sponsor tents, vendors, athlete tents and room for plenty of spectators.

The goal for 2025: to expand the event’s offerings for both athletes and spectators by providing an even more family-friendly event including local vendors, food trucks, live music and more.
