We are MacTuff. ‘The New Year MacTuff’ is Scotland’s and likely the UK’s toughest obstacle challenge. Held annually at Knockhill Racing Circuit Nr Dunfermline, this is the ancestral home and traditional New Year date for the original Mactuff.

A choice of distances; 8k, 15k and 21k, each is a single loop course over challenging terrain; through mud, water and obstacles. It is cold and through various parts of the course you will be in cold water (it’s January in Scotland don’t you know). MacTuff is built to challenge your physical and mental dexterity because we believe that true character is built through true challenge. MacTuff New Year is for anyone that ever wanted to push themselves. It is for the thrill seekers, the renegades, the adventurers. For those looking to discover exactly what they are made of. Come to the home of MacTuff and experience where nature clashes with the will to succeed and overcome.
Can you do it? We have participants of all shapes, sizes and ages. This is not about super human physical strength. This is about the will to continue in the face of adversity.
Be there for the starting call on January 11th 2026, and be rallied by the Dunfermline Pipers before setting off in a smoke filled haze to meet your future self.
