Florence the Border Collie has made it all the way to Abbot House. She’s clever and loyal, with a nose for adventure – but she’s also a nervous dog. Loud bangs, new places, and even her own shadow can make her jump.

That’s where you come in.

Join author Debra and illustrator Jessica for a fun-filled, imagination-packed session all about stories, pictures, and helping Florence discover that being brave doesn’t mean not being scared – it means carrying on even when you are.

What to expect:

· Life as an author–peek behind the pages and see how stories are dreamed up.

· Words to pictures–discover how illustrations can bring characters like Florence to life.

· Your big ideas–join our ideas group for Book 12 in Florence’s series. What should happen next? Could Florence make a new friend, explore somewhere that feels scary at first, or discover a hidden talent that helps her shine?

It’s part story time, part workshop, and all about courage, creativity, and kindness. Perfect for children who love stories, doodling, and dogs with big hearts.

Please note: there are three sessions throughout the day. This ticket is for Session 3, 2.30 pm - 3.30 pm. Other sessions are available on Eventbrite:

Session 1, 10.30 am - 11.30 am

Session 2 - 1 pm - 2 pm

Session 3 - 2.30 pm - 3.30 pm
