Experience Ashfield College & Training121 In Person

Ashfield College, in partnership with Training121, invites players and parents to an exclusive in-person Open Day to experience Ireland’s most innovative Transition Year Football Programme.

This event is designed to give families a first-hand look at how Ashfield’s academic excellence combines with professional football development to create a truly complete TY experience — keeping future academic and third-level options open while supporting serious football ambition.

Please Note: Players participating in the training session must bring football boots suitable for astro turf.

What to Expect

• Explore Ashfield College’s Transition Year structure and educational methodology
• Learn how academic standards, wellbeing, and character development are prioritised
• Meet the Principal, Philip Curry, and hear directly about the school’s vision
• Understand how this programme prepares students for senior cycle and beyond

• Learn about the Training121 football curriculum and player development pathway
• Insights into Training121’s experience working with underage, academy, and professional players
• Players will take part in an on-pitch training session led by Training121 coaches
• Parents gain insight into how players are coached, supported, and developed.
  
  About the Transition Year Football Programme

• Launching for students entering TY in 2026/27, this programme offers:
• A full TY curriculum integrated with daily football coaching
• Education on both playing the game and how the game works, including: Recruitment & scouting; Analytics & high-performance systems ;Coaching, contracts, and club operations
• A balanced timetable supporting academic excellence and sporting development
• Access to excellent classroom and training facilities
• A once-in-a-lifetime football trip abroad, including live matches, stadium tours, and behind-the-scenes experiences

Info: Players will depart with Training121 coaches for a live on-pitch training session (4:15pm – 5:30pm).

Parents will remain at Ashfield College for a presentation delivered by Jonathan Roche and Gary Biggs. (4:00pm – 4:30pm)

At 4:35pm, parents will walk to the Pitch to observe the training session and experience the coaching environment first-hand.
