You’re invited to a rare and beautiful evening of sacred stories, depth, and humor from one of the greatest storytellers roaming today. This will be an unforgettable descent into the wisdom tradition of myth and poetry. Over several hours, master storyteller Dr. Martin Shaw will open door after door into the secret inheritance you never knew you had.
An internationally renowned mythologist and author of seventeen books, Shaw has almost thirty years’ experience working as a wilderness guide. This combination of rites-of-passage leadership and command of many ancient myths and folktales make him one of the most electrifying teachers in the field.
Dr. Shaw is the director of the Westcountry School of Myth and founder of the Oral Tradition and Mythic Life courses at Stanford University. His book Bardskull was described as “rich and transgressive” by Erica Wagner in The Sunday Times and was Book of the Day in The Guardian.
The Irish Times call Martin “a seanchaí, an interloper from the medieval.” Charles Foster says, “there’s Shaw and there’s everyone else.” A hugely respected oral storyteller, Shaw has toured internationally numerous times, and led symposiums at both Oxford and Cambridge University. Robert Bly has described him as “a true master, one of the very greatest storytellers we have.”
