The Cowichan Foundation's annual Michael Coleman Youth Poetry Contest is taking new form with the 2025 Visual Poetry Contest & Film Festival! Open to high school students in the Cowichan Region, students are asked to submit a short video of their original work on any topic for a chance to win cash. New this year, we are announcing our winners live at this exciting viewing event!

Celebrate the amazing young voices at our first live adjudicated film festival. Enjoy a selection of short videos from this year's competition finalists and watch as we award cash prizes to 3 lucky students! First prize is $5000!

Partake in our silent auction and 50-50 draw or just sit back and enjoy the incredible poetry and film that our youth have to offer. There will be live poetry, special guest speakers, and local refreshments available for purchase.
