About the event

Drawing Inks from Oak Galls, Paintbrushes and Pens

During this workshop, you will delve into the alchemical world of ancient ink. We will witness the reactive relationship between iron and tannin and how this combination has been crucial to ink formulation throughout history and behind the famous oak gall ink. Participants will also be able to make paint brushes and pens follwing historical methods and go home with a selction of things at the end of the day.
