Light Up The Nith

Come meet at the Dock Park band stand on Wednesday 10th September (World Suicide Prevention Day) to have mindful stroll along the Nith, heading towards The Swan and back.

The aim is to ‘light up’ the Nith with head torches or any illuminated outfits people wish to wear. There will be a 2 minute silence at 8pm where everyone will be asked to switch their lights off before turning them back on. This is to show that even when a life is lost, the light they brought to this world can never truly go out.

If people wish to attend the light up without taking part in the walk please come to the Dock Park/ White Sands area for 8pm.

This event is on flat pavements and pathways, therefore suitable for wheelchairs and prams, as well as cyclists, runners and walkers.

This event is a fundraiser for the Dumfries branch of Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (Sobs).
