In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create your very own jointed teddy bear—a classic plush companion, or a deeply personal memory bear crafted from meaningful fabric or clothing. Choose from 12" or 18" bear patterns and learn foundational skills in machine sewing, hand stitching, and bear jointing.
Whether you're honoring a loved one or crafting a keepsake for a new generation, you’ll leave with a handmade treasure and the confidence to make more.
You’ll learn:
• How to sew and assemble a fully jointed teddy bear
• Pattern cutting and machine construction techniques
• Hand sewing and joint installation
• Tips for working with specialty or sentimental fabrics
What to bring:
• Your own sewing machine (for use in the first session)
• Needle and basic sewing supplies for hand-finishing, an awl, & needle nosed pliers.
• Fur or fabric (acrylic fur, or materials from loved ones for memory bears) stuffing, felt for paw pads
Instruction, patterns, joints, eye materials are provided. No prior bear-making experience needed, but basic sewing machine familiarity is helpful. Best for Adults.
