Goats at Russell Square Educational Event and Pop-Up Play

In late June, goats from Regenerative Ruminants will be fenced in at Russell Square to graze on invasive species. Come learn about the process and meet the goats!

Join Parks & Recreation for a special Russell Square Pop-Up Play at the field near the goats with yard games and a goat themed craft! You’ll also get a chance to meet Jake from Regenerative Ruminants, who specializes in this alternative land management style.

Why goats? Opportunistic plant species become a problem without natural ecological controls such as fire, wildlife, and native plant competition. Prescribed grazers, like goats, are happy to be the biocontrol mechanism.

Friday, June 27 from 4:30 - 6 p.m. at Russell Square, located at the corner of N 43rd Ave E and Jay St.
