It’s Duluth’s Arbor Day! While the rest of the country celebrates in April, our long winters and cold spring encourage us to celebrate in the fall.
This special Pop-Up Play will celebrate Duluth’s Fall Arbor Day and our public orchard system. Enjoy activities from our mobile recreation trailer and apple themed crafts while learning about our orchards. Join us from 4 - 6 p.m. at Merritt Park, located at 4017 W 7th St
Public orchards are designed to create an inclusive and interactive experience for all to enjoy, by:
🍎 Producing organic food to be shared
🍎 Educating ourselves and our neighbors
🍎 Improving and beautifying public spaces
Come with questions about City of Duluth Forestry or about trees in general. The Forestry Department is responsible for planting, maintaining and removing trees on the boulevards of Duluth. Trees are an important part of the City’s infrastructure and provide many benefits to the citizens including:
🌳 Reducing pollution and storm water runoff
🌳 Reduce home energy costs
🌳 Stabilize soils
🌳 Decrease noise pollution
🌳 Provide wildlife habitat
🌳 Increase property values
