Overview: Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends initiative is all about increasing people’s understanding of dementia and inspiring everyone to make a difference for people affected by the condition in their communities.


Bio: The presentation will be led by Gayle Walter. Gayle Walter is an associate professor in public health at Allen College in Waterloo, Iowa. She is also the team lead for Dementia Friendly Dubuque Iowa. Her passion for this topic began when she saw how individuals living with dementia were not being treated with respect and patience in the community. She is originally from Dubuque.
