Are you curious to try some new dancing or you are busy during the week? Join me in this workshop to try Balkan folk dances. Even if you have danced before, this is your time to keep practising - it is never enough! :) An opportunity to catch up a bit with the group practise on weekdays evenings.
Anyone can join these chain dances and enjoy without the need of a partner. Each dance has a pattern that repeats, so don't worry - you will have plenty of opportunities to repeat it together with others (which helps a lot!). Suitable for all ages (as long as you have some movements coordination).
What to expect:
Part 1: Workshop (1.00 pm - 2.10pm).
Short general warm up with music
Detailed explanations of each pattern / dance. We will learn a few dances from various areas of the Balkans. Some are very popular, others are more local.
Break: 20 minutes
Part 2: Social dance (2.30pm - 3.30pm).
Quick reminder of the steps before we repeat all of the dances from part 1(if necessary) or simply play the music and dance.
If there are special requests - we can include more dances.
If you are tired - you can enjoy chatting with others, some snacks or simply watch.
Bottled water and light snacks are included. You can participate as you wish - there are different dances and you decide when to take part.
You will need:
* Clean shoes that you will use only in the studio ( I reserve the right to refuse participation if you don't have it. Dancing barefoot or with socks is not suitable.). There is space to change and store your shoes.
* Comfortable clothes that allow free movement (like any other physical activity)
* Open mind to learn some folk dances and keep active
