On Friday 29th August 2025, the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign is honoured to host Palestinian journalists Ali Abunimah and Abubaker Abed for a discussion on Western complicity in Israel's Gaza genocide - and what we can do to end it.

*Ali Abuminah*
Ali Abunimah is a journalist, activist and co-founder of Electronic Intifada, one of the world's leading online publications on Palestine. Based in the US, he has been active in the movement for justice in Palestine for over 20 years. He is the author of The Battle for Justice in Palestine (2014) and One Country (2006), and he is a frequent speaker and commentator on the region.
*Abubaker Abed*
Abubaker Abed is a young journalist and Gaza genocide survivor who became an “accidental war correspondent” when the bombing and starvation reached his community. Forced to flee after being directly threatened for his reporting, he left behind his family under immense pressure. He is now living in Ireland, where he continues to speak out despite ongoing fears for his safety. Abubaker will begin studying journalism in Dublin this September.
