About this Event

Old Crows Promotions Presents: Slow Crush / Som / Virgins

Old Crows Promotions are pleased to present Slow Crush for their first ever headline dates in Ireland. Supported by the mighty 'doom-pop' SOM and Irish shoegazers, Virgins.

Slow Crush

Slow Crush are a band that thrives on evolution. After their acclaimed debut Aurora—dubbed by Stereogum as “phenomenal” and “one of the best shoegaze albums of all time”—they toured relentlessly, building a global fanbase drawn to their immersive, swirling soundscapes.

Their second album Hush continued their ascent, leading to sold-out shows and international acclaim. New music took a back seat for a while as the band focused on life on the road, but the four-year gap between Hush and their latest release brought fresh perspective and creative renewal.

When it came time to record, vocalist / bassist Isa Holliday, guitarist Jelle Ronsmans, and drummer Frederik Meeuwis headed to The Ranch in Southampton, UK, to work with producer Lewis Johns (Rolo Tomassi, Svalbard,…). Johns pushed the band beyond their usual boundaries, encouraging experimentation and spontaneity—from glitchy textures and kitchen-recorded snare hits to the unexpected addition of saxophone on the track “Covet.”

This spirit of transformation runs throughout the new record. Sonically, it’s heavier and more layered, contrasting dreamy vocals with gritty guitars, capturing a new emotional intensity. Isa dug deeper than ever before in her lyrics and vocal performance, exploring themes of emotional burnout, reconnection, and the push-pull of life on and off the road.

At its core, the album reflects a desire for clarity and emotional truth—balancing heaviness with intimacy. It’s a record about being tethered yet weightless, lost yet searching, and above all, embracing music as a space for stillness, reflection, and transcendence.

“We want people to feel embraced by the music,” Isa says. “To let go and be taken somewhere else—into another dimension, even. A place where they can just be present.”

SOM

SOM released their third full-length album, Let The Light In, on March 14th 2025 via Berlin left-field label Pelagic Records. With a unique sound dubbed “Doom Pop” by Metal Injection, SOM’s dreamy shoegaze roots are on display across Let The Light In, but there is heft at its core that’s bracing and ferocious. If the band’s debut album The Fall explored hitting rock bottom, and sophomore release The Shape of Everything grappled with the ever-darkening world around us, Let The Light In sees SOM turn their sights inward, towards our most primal impulses; seeking solace and reconciliation from the vibrancy within ourselves and the people we hold close.

Virgins

Virgins have rapidly become one of Ireland’s most promising alternative acts. Their 2022 EP ‘Transmit a Little Heaven’ sold out its vinyl pressing, and their debut album ‘Nothing Hurt and Everything Was Beautiful’ followed with another sell out, garnering praise across major press and radio, including making the short list for the NI Music Prize Album of the Year.On new single 'b l o o m s' the band redefine their sound while exploring new emotional depths and expanding their sonic palette. Produced by Simon Francis (The Japanese House, Kylie Minogue, Ellie Goulding) and mastered by Slowdive’s Simon Scott, the track features shimmering verses that explode into swirling choruses, accented by reverse delays and glide guitar. The euphoria inducing crescendo of fuzz and siren vocals releases the pressure valve of tension cultivated throughout the track.'b l o o m s' has already caught the sharpened ears of John Kennedy of RadioX, marked as one on Joe.ie's Top Tracks of the Week, Clash, Hot Press, Golden Plec, Notion, Ones To Watch, Stephen McAuley on BBC Radio Foyle, RTE 2XM and selected as Dan Hegarty's Track of the Week for RTE2fm.Festival appearance at Other Voices Wales, Stendhal, a headline slot at GazeFest alongside UK and Irish tours and supports with Bleach Lab, BDRMM, New Pagans, Sign Crushes Motorist solidified the band as ones to watch.
