Our friends from Half Acre have sent us some awesome beers to celebrate a collaboration with Firestone Walker, so we're tapping three different Daisy Cutters today!
First up, Daisy Cutter Union, the actual Firestone Collab. This beer is a cultural nod to Union Jack while the beer, as beers should, employs some new tools to make age-old wonders. We give you West Coast IPA with Krush and HQG #4, some of earth’s fresh hop arrivals. A bitter and delightful resin you just don’t find in other places. Stone fruit, light berry and some big-billboard modern qualities, but it falls away and lands clean and classic. You'll enjoy the west coast throwback 7% IPA.
Next up is Nebula Double Daisy Cutter. A celebration of Daisy Cutter isn’t complete without a full run bump into the limits of intensity. A really nice lot of Galaxy from Australia, Krush and HBC 1019 all scream on this one. Papaya, guava, pineapple, grapefruit: all present. A Double IPA creamsicle smoothie with sound bitterness and tons of brawn. This one is for the free spirits. This one is a hazy 8% IPA.
And of course we'll have the OG...the 5.2% ABV Pale Ale. Daisy Cutter is one of the first beers Half Acre brewed at the Lincoln Ave brewery. It began as a special release bomber and caught fire. Back in 2009, there were some local pale ales that hit with natural power. But not many. Daisy Cutter’s lush and dank characteristics carved out a place within the Chicago brewing landscape. Today, Daisy Cutter is a call brand that Half Acre continues to keep raw and relevant. Blended pine, citrus, papaya and mango. Dank. Apparent biscuit, lingering, obscenely dry.
