NH Soap Box Derby Annual Local Championship

Welcome to the Soap Box Derby Annual Local Championship!

Come join us in Dover, NH on Broadway at Oak St on June 8, 2025 for an exciting day of racing and fun. Watch as participants from ages 8 to 20 compete in their soap box cars in side-byside compeition. Bring your family and friends to cheer on the racers and enjoy the lively atmosphere. Track setup start at 8:00 am, with practice runs to follow and racing starting about 10:30 am. Bring a folding chair and cooler of drinks and snacks. The event is free to watch.

About: Since 1939, the New Hampshire Soap Box Derby has provided opportunities for girls and boys ages 7 years old & up to assemble, then take the steering wheel of their gravity powered car down a 500 ft or more track in side by side competition. Our mission is to build knowledge and character, and to create meaningful experiences through collaboration and fair and honest competition. Participating in soap box derby provides students the opportunity to sharpen their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) skills. Mechanical skills along with an appreciation of physics and mathematics define a winning racer. The NHSBD hosts races throughout the year. Qualified racers have the opportunity to race in July at the First Energy All-American Soap Box Derby World Championship in Akron, Ohio.
