NEW YEAR’s DAY DIP!! Dover Lifeguard Club invites you to take the plunge at 12 noon outside Dover Sea Sports Centre for a splashy, shivery and fun way to start the year!
EVENT REGISTRATION opens at 11am, its £3 to take the plunge, and £5 if you would like to receive a POLAR CLUB badge, we have 300 to give away!
On the day of the event:
ALL PARTICIPANTS must come to the Registration Desk to “sign-in” (between 11am and 12noon). Participants must be aged 10yrs and over to take part, and anyone under 18yrs must be accompanied by a participating adult at all times (1:1 ratio).
Once you’ve conquered the cold and emerged victorious, head to back the Registration Desk to “sign-out” and collect your well-earned Polar Club Badge and 2025 year strip, bragging rights included!
Safety Reminder: enter the water with a buddy, take your time to acclimatise to the cold water, and stay within your depth. Water shoes may make your entry and exit more comfortable, and please ensure your choice of footwear and clothing / fancy dress does not hamper your ability to swim.
After your dip, get warm fast. Shed wet clothes, apply layers of warm clothes, and enjoy plenty of hot non-caffeinated drinks to bring the feeling back to your toes.

Please note the Dover Lifeguard Club is a registered charity, and additional donations on the day are welcome to support the continued running of the club and its operations. Our much-loved bobble hats will be on sale for £15 each.
