The 4th annual New Riders Endurance Clinic, hosted by Texas Endurance Riders Assoc., will be occurring on October 11-12th, 2025. Registration will start on Friday, October 10th. The clinic will be held at the Caddo Grasslands near Telephone, Tx in NE Texas. It will be a two day clinic, starting on Saturday with speakers Todd Hezeau and Hope Finan discussing the aspects and fundamentals of the sport of endurance riding. John Nowell, our local Specialized Saddlery rep and ride photographer, discussing and demonstrating the importance of saddle fitting. We will also have Manda Morris coming back to discuss and demonstrate rider Biomechanics as well as our timer , Milinda Ellis, whom will be discussing the P&R procedures and how they work. Lunch will be provided, usually consisting of hot dogs, cold cuts and chips. We will have a pot luck dinner that evening, so please bring a dish to share, prior to our annual night ride Saturday night, for those are brave enough to ride in the dark (trail will be marked with green led lights to lead the way). On Sunday morning, we will have an intro endurance ride of about 12 miles. Dr. Valerie Bixlar, DVM will be our vet to do the vet-in prior to going out on trail on Sunday at 9a, along with our TERA P&R team Milinda and Billy. The course will be marked with orange ribbons, signs, arrows and other information to lead you along the course. The course will be through mostly wooded areas, a few creek crossings, and awooden bridge. Camp will be in the Bois D’Arc campground. There are no hook ups, but there is water and chemical toilets. It will be primitive, again, to emulate as close to a real ride situation as possible.The clinic will cost $50.00 per rider and will be limited to 20 riders.
