Join us for RoboHack 2025, a two-day immersive workshop where you'll go from understanding the core concepts of ROS (Robot Operating System) to physically controlling a 5-DOF robotic arm to perform real-world tasks! While our primary hands-on focus will be on the robotic arm, we'll also cover essential concepts for building smart mobile robots using ROS, Raspberry Pi, and ESP-32.
This workshop is perfect for students, hobbyists, and aspiring roboticists who want hands-on experience with industry-standard tools.
Over two interactive sessions, you’ll explore the following key topics:
Getting Started with ROS Noetic: Understand the foundations of the Robot Operating System (ROS) – the middleware powering modern robotics.
Essential ROS Commands & Core Features: Learn the basic but powerful commands, tools, and architecture of ROS to control and manage robotic systems effectively.
Meet the 5-DOF Robotic Arm: URDF & Simulation: Explore the mechanical design and 3D model of the 5-DOF robotic arm through URDF (Unified Robot Description Format).
Solving Inverse Kinematics with ROS: Interface ROS with motion planning algorithms to solve IK (Inverse Kinematics) for controlling the robotic arm accurately.
Hands-On: Pick and Place using ROS-Controlled Robotic Arm: Apply your knowledge to command the robot in a live pick-and-place demonstration, combining everything you’ve learned!
