Ali Mehedi: Made in Bangladesh

Ali Mehedi was born in Bikrompur, Munshiganj, and somehow ended up telling jokes in New York City instead of becoming a full-time engineer. (He still writes code during the day—because dreams don’t pay rent.)

After moving to Canada for university, he tried stand-up comedy to improve his public speaking—and got hooked. Now he splits his time between debugging software and performing at NYC’s top clubs. He’s the creator of Laughing Lassi, and has performed at the New York Comedy Festival, Halifax Comedy Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and made his TV debut on CBC Canada in 2024.

Now, for the first time, Ali is bringing his comedy home to Bangladesh.

This show is about identity, culture, family pressure, immigration, the weird stuff you see abroad—and the even weirder stuff you see right here.

Expect laughs. Expect honesty. Maybe a little bit of dirt. Definitely a lot of heart.
