Spiral Initiative Call for Submissions

W.I.S.E. Partnership and Spiral Initiative proudly present an evening of powerful expression, community dialogue, and visionary creativity—curated by Community Arts Director, Ms. Taylor Childs, and hosted by award-winning young filmmaker Ms. Kenndall Wallace.

✨ Spiral Initiative is more than an art show—it’s a movement. Our mission is to invest in the future of Detroit artists of color through career cultivation, mentorship, and public exposure. This year’s showcase brings together eight emerging artists, all ages 18–30, to present original work that confronts and reimagines Detroit’s environmental landscape.

🎨 Themes include:

• Environmental injustice
• Housing inequity & urban decay
• Grassroots organizing & green futures

Expect visual art, cinematic storytelling, performance, and immersive installations that urge the public to take a stand—and celebrate the transformative power of art.

🎖️ Selected artists will receive a small stipend and compete for cash prizes through a jury selection. Proceeds will support environmental justice nonprofits.
