Feast of the Assumption

All are invited to join us during the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary for Masses at 7:30 a.m. and Noon in St. Bonaventure Chapel!

On this day, we celebrate the bodily taking up of the Virgin Mary into Heaven at the end of her earthly life. Declared by Pope Pius XII in 1950, “We pronounce, declare and define it to be a divinely revealed dogma that the immaculate Mother of God, the ever Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul to heavenly glory.”

This day is regarded as a Holy Day of Obligation in the Catholic Church.
