Camp Description:
Discover the beauty of nature through art! In this two-day mini camp, young artists will explore the colors, textures, and patterns of the natural world. Campers will start in Studio #200 with Jess Quinn, experimenting with different materials to create nature-inspired artwork. Then, they’ll continue their adventure in Studio #211 with Teri Templeton Cadman, bringing their ideas to life through hands-on projects.
✨ Projects in Studio #200:
🌿 Printing with Nature: Transfer & Texture – Explore nature’s beauty through printing! Students will use leaves, feathers, and flowers to create vibrant prints by hammering or gelli printing, transferring the natural textures and colors to paper. This hands-on project encourages creativity through pattern and texture.
🌸 Nature Drawing & Painting: Express Your Theme – Students will choose a theme—flowers, animals, insects, or landscapes—and create a drawing or painting inspired by nature. This project focuses on personal expression and learning techniques to bring nature’s details and vibrant colors to life.
✨ Projects in Studio #211:
🌿 Fabric Leaf Bowl- Using a paper maché technique, campers will create a nature inspired functional piece of art. Using nature magazines and various patterns of leaf shaped fabric, they will have a sturdy artistic vessel to keep their trinkets in.
Nature Scene with 3D Elements- Campers will choose their desired landscape (desert, mountain, seascape, etc…) then create a collage by tearing, cutting and layering shapes from printed, painted and manipulated paper to assemble their landscape compositions.
This immersive experience is perfect for young artists who love nature and want to develop their artistic skills in a fun and supportive environment.
