A concert of improvised and experimental music, in trios, duos & solos, with ritnoise, Eimear Reidy & Natalia Beylis.
ritnoise makes mouth sounds. They improvise, jam and compose live, mixing a background in new music, a geeky love of the International Phonetic Alphabet and a degree in traditional song. They vocalise with a loop pedal, cassette tapes and mixing desk feedback, find beauty in unusual and ungendered vocal noises, and will sing melodies when least expected.
Eimear Reidy is a keen improviser and has performed with musicians such as The Quiet Club, Strange Attractor and Laura Hyland as well as solo performances in The Guest House, Plugd Records, Zolala, Sonic Vigil, Féile na Gréine, The Dock Arts Centre, Spike Cello festival and the Kat Laughs festival. Eimear has written music for a variety of settings including theatre, art instillation and dance performances.
Natalia Beylis' music revolves somewhere between sonic story-teller and multi-instrumental explorer. She has released over 40 albums between solo works and collaborations and has appeared on numerous compilations. Based in rural Ireland, her work parallels the lines of her surroundings: creaking trees, farm animals, vocal samples taken from conversations with her neighbours, the northwesterly breeze, creatures rusting in the hedgerows, strange noises from the bog at dusk and rainfall.
