Children's Liturgy

This Sunday at the 12 noon Mass, St. Columba’s, Long Tower resumes a special Children’s Liturgy of the Word. Children of the parish are invited into the church to experience the Liturgy of the Word through readings that are interpreted specifically with younger listeners in mind.

After the Opening Prayer of the Mass, the children (P1 - P4) are invited to go to the Sacristy accompanied by our Youth Minister, Sophie who shares the Gospel and directs the children at their level through a guided discussion around the meaning of God’s word in the readings. The children then return to their families at the Offertory of the Mass.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a great opportunity for your son or daughter to experience the word of God in a way that tends to be more accessible to children.

The programme has been very successful with many kids attending on a weekly basis. Just come along this Sunday at 12 Noon Mass - you’ll be more than welcome!
