Back on So. Broadway with special guests Sympathy F, and Jenny Shawhan, this will be a night filled with great Americana & Alt-Country from some of Denver's best.
Built around Jack Yoder's Solo acoustic show and his years of touring throughout the country, Jack Yoder & the Doublewide Disaster bring that catalog to an all-new, higher level that’s a must-see. Their set works its way through Americana and Alt-Country with some Cowpunk sprinkled in for good measure. The shows that the Doublewide Disaster put on are described as a whole lot of fun. Expect to see a band onstage having a great time performing, adding in storytelling and engaging with the crowd. Jack is joined by Tony Hecker, Virginia Brightman, and Joe Colomb in support of Jack’s latest release, Dumpster Fire, wherever you stream music
Sympathy F -
Acoustic set
Ask anyone who was around the underground rock scene in Denver in the early '90s and chances are that person at least heard of Sympathy F. Since its 1991 debut at 7 South, a club now known as the hi-dive, Sympathy F became a favorite of peers and fans by virtue of its superb songwriting and the beautiful vocal harmonies of Elizabeth Rose and Tony Morales. Then as now, Sympathy F combined a kind of folk-rock compositional sensibility with jazz-like rhythms and Doug Seaman's ability to play within and over the melodies with his knack for switching between inventive soundscaping and playing lead to Morales' own tuneful acoustic strumming. - Tom Murphy Westword article 2014
Jenny Shawhan
Growing up in Mooresville, Indiana and now living in Denver, Shawhan was influenced early by her grandmother’s hymns and her dad’s love of country radio, She started playing piano at age 7, then quickly discovered her voice. Comparisons have been made from Bonnie Raitt and Melissa Etheridge to Alison Krauss and Dolly Parton, but Shawhan is no copycat. Her music is, rather, a blend of influences that she presents honestly and without pretension.
