Fermentation Workshop offered by Crawford County Extension
Denison, IA. ISU Extension and Outreach in Crawford County is offering a Fermentation Workshop, Tuesday, August 5, 6:00 PM-8:00 PM in Denison. The interactive workshop will uncover the amazing health benefits of fermented foods and provide practical skills for fermenting vegetables. Participants will prepare a jar of kimchi to take home and ferment.
The workshop includes:
· The science behind fermentation
· Tips to avoid common problems
· Flavor ideas and health benefits of fermented foods
Whether you're a home cook looking to explore new techniques or a food entrepreneur ready to take their business to the next level, this workshop will boost your confidence, skills, and knowledge in fermenting vegetables. The class is led by Renee Sweers, Health and Human Sciences Educator with ISU Extension and Outreach and include hands-on instruction, tastings, and take-home items.
