PERFORMER BIO:
BACHACO is Afro-Caribbean Roots Rock reimagined for a global generation. Blending high-energy reggae, Latin rhythms, and conscious lyrics, BACHACO’s sound is a powerful fusion of cultures—equal parts feel-good and thought-provoking, bilingual and borderless. Whether in English or Spanish, BACHACO speaks the universal language of groove.
Founded by Venezuelan singer-songwriter Edilberto “Eddy” Morillo in Miami, BACHACO is a living example of the city’s melting-pot magic. Since 2007, they’ve rocked over 300 stages from Argentina to Canada, sharing the spotlight with reggae and Latin music icons like Stephen Marley, Natiruts, Cultura Profética, Israel Vibration, Gondwana, Toots & The Maytals, Los Amigos Invisibles, WAR, and more. In the U.S., they’ve also electrified numerous college campuses and major music festivals—bringing their message of unity and groove directly to the next generation of fans.
Beyond performing, BACHACO is also a respected concert producer. The band has played a key role in curating and producing major cultural events including the Miami Reggae Festival, 5 de Mayo Beach Fest, and the Feel Good Music Fest—which featured international headliners like INNER CIRCLE (Jamaica), BAHIANO (ex-Los Pericos), GONDWANA (Chile), GOMBA JAHBARI (Puerto Rico), and MULATO (Venezuela), along with top local acts. These events have become cultural staples that unite diverse communities through music.
Their breakout singles “Good Morning,” “Sunfire Girl,” and “Keep Your Head Up” cemented their place in the Latin Reggae Rock scene, fusing dancehall, dub, ska, rock, and hip-hop with signature Caribbean bounce. The viral track “Tú”—featuring Dominican telenovela star Joseguillermo Cortines—earned national TV exposure on Telemundo’s “Premios Tu Mundo” and a Gibson guitar endorsement.
In 2023, BACHACO kept momentum strong with three standout releases:
A “Visual LP” performance on Sugarshack Sessions, one of the most-watched and most-shared of the year;
The “SA SA SA” Remix featuring Puerto Rico’s GOMBA JAHBARI;
And the “ECHA PA’LLA” Remix featuring Venezuela’s MULATO, which charted on Venezuela’s #1 Record Report.
Another milestone was their cross-cultural single “UNA SOLA NACIÓN”, a reggae anthem for unity co-written and recorded with Costa Rica’s top reggae band, OJO DE BUEY. The release was celebrated with a successful tour across Costa Rica, strengthening BACHACO’s growing Central American fanbase.
Their high-profile conference and festival showcases include SXSW, LAMC, and headlining slots at Miami Reggae Festival, 5 de Mayo Beach Fest, and beyond. In 2014, Concert Channel Sessions broadcast their Hollywood performance across 20+ countries during prime time.
Their 2012 self-titled debut album—with Latin Roots hits like “Jamaican Cumbia,” “Cumbia Pa’ La Nena,” and “Ni Una Lágrima”—received widespread media coverage from MTV, CNN en Español, iTunes, SiriusXM, ZUMBA, and Remezcla.
Now entering a bold new chapter, BACHACO’s upcoming releases blend Afrobeats, Latin fusion, and global bass, while staying rooted in their mission of uniting people through rhythm and soul. Their message remains timeless: “Una sola nación. One nation. One sound.”
