War of 1812 Re-Enactment

Join soldiers and settlers as they set up camp for the annual War of 1812 Re-enactment on September 6th & 7th, 2025.

Activities include:
- battle re-enactments
- military and civilian encampments
- cannon and musket firing demonstrations
- children's militia
- Sutler’s Row vendors
- historic cooking demonstrations
- historic presentations
- weaving and spinning demonstrations from the Norfolk Fibre Arts Guild weavers, products will be available for purchase
- period demonstrations and activities in Backhouse Historic Site
- tours of the 1798 Backhouse Grist Mill( the mill that didn’t burn during the War of 1812)
