Lucy Pettengill as portrayed by Laura F. Keyes - a historical Juneteenth Program

Meet Lucy Pettengill, resident of Peoria, IL, in March 1857. Learn about the struggles she and her fellow abolitionists encountered, in order to assist freedom seekers on their way north. Hear the accounts of the efforts of the underground railroad activities by Lucy Pettengill, portrayed by Ms. Keyes. Details of the abolitionist movements and actions in Western Illinois by Lucy Pettengill and her associates will be shared along with the secretive actions amid imminent dangers.
