Glass is a stunning medium, and when you combine your favorite colors and even add texture, you can craft one-of-a-kind pieces of art that will brighten your home for years to come. Glass fusing is the art of layering glass and firing it in the kiln to permanently join the design and give it texture and shape.
In this two hour group class you will learn the fundamentals of glass fusing:
· To cut and shape glass.
· How to lay out and secure your design.
· Which fuses are used to achieve different textures and give shape.
You will select your fuse and presentation: your piece can be left flat; have hooks added for hanging; or you can have your piece fired a second time and shaped into a dish. Need a creative boost? We have wine, cocktails, tea, coffee, or soda for you to enjoy while learning this exciting medium!
Please note: This class is for beginners to learn the basics – no experience is necessary and all tools are provided. This is a family friendly class, ages 10 and up. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. All persons attending must pay the class fee and make a project. Your piece will be ready approximately 7-10 days after your class. We will notify you by call or text when your piece is ready to be collected.
