“Lindo y Querido” is a love letter to the beauty of my cultural upbringing the things we tend to overlook, but that carry a quiet, poetic presence. This collection celebrates the beauty found in the ordinary and the simple, everyday moments. Mexico, lindo y querido.
I was born and raised between Del Rio, Texas, and Acuña, Coahuila, right along the U.S.–Mexico border. Growing up between two cultures has shaped the way I see the world and the art I create. I started making art at 15, during the pandemic. At the time, it was a way to cope with personal challenges. Over time, it became my way of expressing stories, memories, and identity.
My work often explores themes of nostalgia, culture, and personal history. I’m inspired by Mexican art, Chicano art, and the street art found across cities in Mexico. I mainly work with acrylic on canvas, but I also experiment with other mediums such as oil pastels and colored pencil. Bright colors and recurring images like cacti are common in my paintings and reflect the places and feelings I grew up with.
I don’t claim to have all the answers as an artist, but I create with honesty and the hope that others might connect with the memories and emotions I share through my work.
